FAQ - Pipettes and Tips
1. What are negative graduations and do GREINER serological pipettes have them?
Negative graduations are at the top of the serological pipette. They add additional capacity to our pipettes by graduating the pipette beyond the listed volume. For example, the 25mL pipette is graduated normally to 25mL. This pipette has additional negative graduations from the top up to 7mL. So, this pipette offers accurate measurement to 32mL even though it is a 25mL pipette.
2. What are reverse graduations and do GREINER serological pipettes have them?
Reverse graduations start at the tip (bottom) of the pipette so that it is easier to read the volume as you aspirate liquid into the pipette. GREINERs 5, 10 and 25mL serological pipettes have reverse graduations in addition to standard graduations (read from the top down).
